Abstract
321,501. Zwinz, F. Sept. 17, 1928. Disc and like mills. -In a grinding mill having a pair of vertical grinding discs one or both of which are movably connected with its support, the central aperture of the movable grinding disc a, Fig. 1, is bounded by an inwardly projecting flange l to prevent axial displacement between the disc and the support, and is connected with its support b by means of projections c extending longitudinally of the support and engaging in recesses in, or between stops d on the support so as to allow small play. The co-acting disc e may be fixed to the driving shaft or loosely connected thereto by a pin e in a slot h and the separation of the discs is determined by a screw k and nut p. In a modification, Fig. 2, the disc has a central aperture provided with internal lugs q, which engage in recesses in a disc m provided with a slot o which engages a pin n on the shaft. The discs a and e may be made interchangeable, the end of the housing socket b being modified to accommodate the disc e.
