Abstract

320,675. Cullum, H. J. July 20, 1928. Barrel. and cylindrical hinges. -The sheet metal hinges used for the upper and lower parts of gramophone and like boxes or cases are provided with extensions or continuations arranged to project from the ends of the hinge, the projecting parts being bent at right-angles or diverted adjacent the end of the hinge and being adapted at their ends to be fixed to the wall of the box or case. As shown, the hinge 1 with a short pin 5 is provided with a loose pin 9 which forms an extension of the pin 5 and has a bent part 10 with an eyelet 11 for a securing nail or screw, which is secured through the eyelet to the wall of the box or case. Instead of an eyelet, the end of the pin 9 may be formed as a spike to be driven into the wall of the box or case. The extensions may also be formed integral with the hinge pin.
