Abstract

318,827. Casalis, G. March 6, 1929. Skein holders and swifts. - An adjustable reel or skein holder comprises two symmetrical hubs 2, 3, Fig. 2, relatively rotatable on a shatt 1 and carrying arms consisting of pairs of spokes 6, 7, Fig. 1, pivoted at their inner ends to the respective hubs and connected to each other at their outer ends through a skein supporting member 8. The spokes 6, 7 and the member 8 may be formed from a single length of wire, and the spread of the reel is adjusted bv relative rotation of the hubs 2, 3. The spokes 6, 7 are pivoted near the edge of disc portions 4, 5, Fig. 7, while stop-rings 18, 19 retain springs 20, 21 in contact with the hubs 2, 3. A separating disc 14 is provided between the two series of spokes.
