Abstract

318,432. Automatic Scale Co., Ltd., and Blick, E. L. Nov. 16, 1928. Cutting slices in succession.-A display tray for use with slicing machines has means for securing the meat &c. to be displayed and sliced and means for positioning the tray accurately on the slicing-machine table. The tray comprises a base 4 with up-turned sides 4a having diagonally disposed handles 5 attached thereto. A. U-shaped clamp 7 of bent wire is pivoted to lugs 6 on the tray, the tray and clamp being provided with spikes 9, 7<b> respectively, or with serrations, for engaging the meat 8 to retain it when the tray is removed from the machine. The base is perforated at 9<a> so as to receive the usual spikes 10<a> on the slicing-machine table 10 and two or more of the perforations are made an exact fit on the spikes to ensure accurate positioning of the tray on the table. The usual clamp 11 of the slicing-machine is pressed on the clamp 7 during slicing.
