Abstract

318,345. Massa, N. July 14, 1928. Cork, treating.-In an apparatus for the continuous production of cork conglomerate for use as insulating material or the like, granulated cork is fed to a hopper 8 and passes successively through two conical rotating drums 1, 2 heated by flue gases which pass through the drums as shown by arrows, or may be by-passed to flow round the drums by suitably adjusting valves 28, 23, 19, 11. A suitable agglomerating substance may be added to the lower drum, or heated cork may be drawn directly from the upper drum by means of a valve 15.
