Abstract
317,221. Pollock, A. F., and Pollock, D. A. Aug. 7, 1928. Amplifying systems.-Frequencies which are recorded with undue intensity in phonographic and photographic sound records are subdued duing reproduction therefrom by the insertion, in the anode or grid circuit of an amplifying valve, of a selective leak comprising, in series, a condenser f passing all except the low audiofrequencies, a choke shunted by a condenser or resistance i, or both, and impeding the lower high audio-frequencies, and a choke h impeding the higher audio-frequencies. The condenser f may be adjustable, and the impedance of the choke h may be varied by providing it with tappings or a sliding core. In the case of resistance coupling (as shown) or with choke coupling, the choke It is also arranged in series with the anode resistance d or coupling choke, but in the case of transformer coupling, the whole of the leak is connected across the primary or secondary winding. The leak mav also be connected across loudspeaker windings in the output circuit.
