Abstract
315,647. Knaster, L. Nov. 20, 1928. Office desks.-A desk is provided with a pivoted slope which normally conceals a compartment, and with a cabinet section above this compartment. The desk shown has a platform 10 with rear and side walls 11, 12, a covered cabinet section 14, and a fireproof metal compartment 15 comprising a secret container 16. This is movable on a track 18, and has a lock 17 The section 14 has a curved cover 19, the rear end of which is connected by a link 20 to the rear end 21 of a drawer 22. To prepare the desk for use the drawer is drawn out, thus throwing up the cover 19. The folding leaf 31 is then opened out, its front edge resting on the front 24 of the drawer. To obtain access to the secret container 15, the rear part 28 of the slope is swung outward so as to lay on the leaf 31.
