Abstract

315,600. Eastwood, G. W. Aug. 17, 1928. Bodies. - To secure a door-hinge to the stanchion of a vehicle a hinge pin a is mounted in a flanged socket piece d which is rigidly secured by a bolt, stud or screw e passing through the stanchion c. Rotation of the socket piece is prevented by screws d<2> passing through the flange into the stanchion. The hinge flaps of double doors may be mounted either on the same or on separate hinge pins, the separate hinge pins being mounted in one socket piece. The hinge flaps are bent to accommodate different widths of door pillar. With single doors the flap may have a pair of knuckles spaced apart to fit the socket piece d or a flap similar to one of those used for double doors may be used with suitable collars.
