315,569. Rawcliffe, G., and Pilling & Sons, Ltd., J. July 17, 1928. Take-up motions. - Relates to quarterchange wheel slip catches designed to let back automatically a predetermined number of picks on the breakage of the weft, and consists in mounting the slip catch on means which, when operated, cause the teeth of the slip catch to be withdrawn from the pick wheel without first rotating the pick wheel, whereby any further number of picks may then be let back. The slip catch 1 is rotatable on an eccentric sleeve 7 provided with a handle 10 and loosely mounted on a stud 6 adjustably secured in a bracket 15. When the handle 10 is moved against a stop 11, the teeth 12 of the catch are in full engagement with the teeth of the pick wheel 13, or the change wheel, but when the handle 10 is moved against a stop 14, the sleeve 7 is rotated thereby to move the teeth 12 in a substantially radial direction out of engagement with the teeth 13, so that any desired number of picks may then be let back. The stops 11, 14 are formed on a part which is secured to the stud 6 and serves normally as a stop for the arm 17 of the catch 1.
