Tunnel kilns. - In the cooling.zone of a tunnel kiln air or other c o o l i n g - fluid is admitted to roof flues 5 through openings 8 at the highest point of the arch, and passes laterally to collector flues 6, 7 through damper-controlled openings 9. Further air &c. is admitted to side wall flues 1 through dampercontrolled openings 4, and passes to collector flues 2, 3, which, together with the flues 6, 7 lead to a common off-take.
