Abstract

315,011. Latham, J. E. March 8, 1928. Drip guards. - Stoves comprising burners arranged beneath a hot-plate of open or grid-like form are provided with devices for protecting the burners from droppings consisting of a baffle member of larger diameter than the burner, having a cylindrical portion fitting an opening in the hot-plate, and a peripheral flange which rests on the hot-plate. The form shown comprises a circular plate 1 having a depending flange 2, both the inner and outer walls of which slope outwardly to direct overflowing liquids from the burner. The flange 3 of the baffle rests in a recess in a ring- like part 5 of the hot-plate, the outer wall 8 of which also slopes outwardly. The junction 7 between the top 1 and the inner side of the flange 2 is smooth, as shown, to avoid moisturecollecting corners.
