Abstract

314,865. Coquard, L. C. July 3, 1928, [Convention date]. Void [Published under Sect. 91 of the Acts]. Pistons. - An oil-scraping ring a has notches or perforations c<1> leading from an oilcollecting recess b at the upper edge of the ring to the space x<2> at the back of the ring, from which the oil passes through notches d in the lower edge of the ring to the cylinder wall. The oil may be drained to the interior of the piston through passages e in a bevelled surface x<3> below the scraper-ring groove. The recess b may be rectangular, or may be formed by bevelling the upper edge of the ring, but is preferably V-shaped, as shown. The channels c<1>, d are preferably staggered, as shown.
