Abstract

314,818. Rosebrook, G. L. July 2, 1928, [Convention date]. Rope railways.-A. servicing station to provide for washing, polishing, oiling, greasing, and other operations on wheeled vehicles comprises a series of stations at which the work is performed disposed at points along a track or tracks so that the wheeled vehicles may be moved at a relatively slow and constant speed in one direction through the various stations with stops at the stations. A building 12 encloses a floor space 13 on which are disposed the tracks 16, 17, the one 17 being enclosed by the other, 16. Each track consists of pairs of wheel guides 34, the inner track of each set being provided with pathways for the reception of the endless chains 42 by which the vehicles are moved. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a.) comprises also means for moving the chains in opposite directions around sprockets 52 by gearing 43 disposed beneath the floor at the front wall 15, and at intervals along the chains are positioned carriages 53 which roll in the guideways and support detent means 55, 62 for engaging ends of resilient tractor rods 57, the other ends of which are hooked to the frame bars 59 of the vehicle. These tractor bars are automatically disengaged at the ends of the tracks by pins 65 engaging stop wedges 63 which lift the ends 56 of the bars from engagement with the carriages 53, after which the tractor bars are further raised manually to free them from the vehicles. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
