Abstract

314,145. Lifchuz, (nÚe de Salas), P., and Lifchuz, A. April 3, 1928. Cigarettes and cigars.-Self-lighting tips are made from cellulose esters in which potassium chlorate is suspended. Two coatings are given, the potassium chlorate in the first coating being much finer than that in the second. Aceto- or nitro-cellulose is dissolved in low boiling solvents such as acetone. The mixture may be stabilized and gelatinized by the addition of derivatives of aniline, urea, urethaae, or the esters of polyhydric alcohols such as triacetine and nitroglycerine. Fillers such as kieselguhr and friction sensitizers such as pumice-stone and powdered glass are used in the outer tip.
