Abstract

313,232. M³ller, H. March 22, 1928. Mechanical toys.-In a human or animal toy figure that receives its motive impulse from a spring-driven vibratory or centrifugal weight, the figure, which may be in the form of a bird, carries the weight in the breast portion and is thereby caused to execute hopping and picking movements while standing freely on its feet. The figure 1 of a bird is supported on legs 13 and is caused to execute vertical picking movements by a weight 6 that is driven by clockwork and is disposed eccentrically of its driving spindle 5. By arranging the weight to one side of the central vertical plane of the figure the toy is caused to move laterally over its supporting surface. The legs 13 are formed of a single length of bent wire and are secured to the tail of the figure by bent lugs 15<1>.
