Abstract

719,817. Walking toys. LINES BROS., Ltd. April 10, 1953 [April 21, 1952], No. 9964/52. Class 132(3) A walking doll or the like propelled by a motor driven swinging mass has two feet rigid with one another and having two projections symmetrically placed, one on the outer edge of the plane undersurface of each foot or the feet, if they are directly united, behind the swinging mass. As shown, legs 16 are fixed to brackets 12 secured to a yoke 10 pivoted on the winding shaft 6 of a clockwork motor 4 which is secured within a body 2. The legs 16 are weighted by metal rods 30 and the soles of the feet carry projections 28 at their outer edges. A crank 18 driven by motor 4 engages a slot 20 in a lever 22 projecting upwards from yoke 10 so as to swing the body 2 relative to the legs. In this example the body 2 forms the swinging mass.
