Abstract

311,678. Buys, A. G. A. Feb. 13, 1928. Converting electric energy into motion of fluid by action of magnetic field. - A container 8 is carried on spiral springs 4 of magnetic material mounted on a base 6. To each spring corresponds an electromagnet. 2 energized by an alternating current. It is stated that a rotary motion is produced in fluid in the container 8, which may be utilized for centrifugal operation, the direction of rotation depending on the direction of winding of the spiral. By employing two sets of springs wound in opposite directions and energizing the electromagnets corresponding to either set as desired rotation in either direction may be obtained.
