Rudders.-Ships' rudder of the kind constructed of rolled material welded together and pivoted to the ship by gudgeons has at the upper and lower edges of the rudder body horizontal flanges whereby it is connected to the gudgeon supports. Rudder k is formed from welded plates and has a central stiffener v of tubular, double channel, or like form. At the top and bottom are flanges t for attachment to the lower and upper carriers o, p of the gudgeons q, r.
