Abstract
311,322. Spohn, G. May 9, 1928, [Convention date]. Creasing.-Letters are creased so as to be folded for insertion in envelopes, by a device comprising a base-plate a on which the letters are placed, and one or more pivotally-mounted creasing bars b, c adapted to press the letters into grooves a' formed in the plate a. The bar b is carried by levers e pivoted at d to brackets on the plate a and the bars c are similarly pivoted at f, springs i, k being provided to hold the bars b, c raised normally. In operation, the bar b is first separated to crease the letters which are then folded over by hand, whereupon the blades c are operated so as to crease the letters at rightangles to the first crease and the folding is completed by hand. The bars b, c may be made adjustable for various size letters and a number of grooves a<1> provided on the base plate to cooperate therewith.
