Abstract
310,999. Johnson, J. Y., (I. G. Farbenindustrie Akt.-Ges.). Feb. 6, 1928. Right to Patent relinquished. Catalytic apparatus.-In the catalytic production of defines from mixtures of hydrogen and oxides of carbon the temperature is controlled by means of a cooling or heating fluid which circulates in heat-exchanging relation with the catalyst but is not in contact with the reacting gases. For example the catalyst B may, be placed in channels in the surface of a series of shelves A of manganese copper provided with bores C for the passage of fluid. In another modification the catalyst is placed on spirals of metal tube through which the fluid passes.
