Abstract

310,665. Stiiting, H. May 5, 1928. Rolling. - In universal rolling mills the shaft of each roll c is supported in an adjustable bearing block having a stem b and an auxiliary stem f, slidable in fixed parts to adjust the pass, the end of the stem f being sloped at 45‹ to bear against and move with the similar stem of the next roll, the complete arrangement forming a closed circuit which prevents deflection of the bearing in every position of adjustment. The bearing block may have guide box parts secured to and moving with them. The roll c is segmental and oscillates.
