Abstract

310,419. Maison Desoer Soc. Anon. April 25, 1928, [Convention date]. Indexing.-A filing system for documents comprises a set of cards 1 with alphabetical index tabs 2 for separating the documents into groups according to the initial letters of their names or denominations, secondary cards with index tabs 3 for dividing the groups into subgroups according to requirements, and individual jackets or the like with tabs 4, all the tabs being offset in relation to one another to facilitate reading. The tabs 4 are marked as required by attaching slips of paper, which may be supplied in sheet form. Additional tabbed jackets, preferably of a distinctive colour, are provided to take the place of jackets temporarily removed from the file. The tabs may consist of metal clips adapted to receive slips of paper under a protective cover of mica, celluloid, &c. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 1465/11, [Class 140 (i), Filing papers &c.].
