Protective arrangements.-In means for supplying high-tension current to wireless receiver amplifiers &c., comprising a rotary machine having a double wound armature and two commutators, to one of which current from a battery or D.C. mains is supplied, output current being taken from the other, there is provided a condenser connected between an input and an output lead-in order to eliminate modulated high-fre. quency ripple set up by commutation. Two such condensers A, B may be connected one between the positive input and output leads of the machine 0 and the other between the negative input and output leads. A second pair of condensers' D, F may be connected between the input leads and the output side of a pair of series-connected chokes E, G on the output side of the machine. Shunt condensers H, J and high-frequency chokes K, L are also provided on the output side. When the input is obtained from a battery, a low-resistance choke is inserted in one or both of the input leads to the machine.
