Leaf turners.-In a music &c. leaf turner, the pivots of the driving-devices which move the turning- levers over are arranged obliquely with respect to plane in which the turning- levers move. Fig. 1 is a side elevation of a device comprising several levers 3, the free ends of each of which has a clamp for securing a leaf, each lever 3 being operated in one direction by a stirrup-like device 7 and in the other by a similar device 8; the crowns of these devices 7, 8 have each a tooth such as 8<1>, engaging with the levers 3. The stirrups 7, 8 are joumaled on rollers r, which rotate on studs a, b arranged obliquely with reference to the plane in which the arms 3 are moved. By means of a pedal cord 2, the corresponding roller r is rotated against the action of the spring 10 or 11, and the tooth 8<1> on the stirrup engages with the lowest lever 3 and throws it over. To ensure the engagement of the stirrup 8 with the levers 3 it is counterweighted. One of the devices 7, 8 and its accessories may be omitted.
