Abstract

309,794. Zeiss, C., and M÷ller, O. July 16, 1928. Prism systems.-Reversing prism systems for parallel vision have only two ray-traversing surfaces d e exposed to the air, and have four unsilvered and totally reflecting surfaces, two of which are single surfaces a b meeting one of the ray-traversing surfaces and the other two surfaces c constitute a roof edge, one of the single surfaces b meeting one of the raytraversing surfaces e at a re-entering angle. The prism system consists of two elements cemented together, the cemented surface containing the edge upon which the vertex of the re-entering angle rests. The reflecting surfaces are so disposed that one glass element contains the single surfaces and the other the roof. Each element contains one ray-traversing surface and the inclination of the roof-edge to the raytraversing surfaces in the examples described in the Specification lies between 8‹ and 22‹.
