309,728. Beatty, W. G. April 4, 1928. Drinking-appliances for animals.-A water bowl 5 is formed with a vertical web 14 at the top of which a hooked projection 15 extends. The lower part of the web is formed with inclined faces 16 and an inclined and hooked supporting base piece 17. The bowl is secured to a valve standard 2 by placing the hooked portion 15 under the inlet tube 4a to the valve housing 4 so that a transverse bar 13 on the tube engages in the recess 15<a> of the hooked portion. The lower part 16 of the web is pressed into a tapered recess 19 on the standard, the inclined base piece 17 resting on the bottom of the recess. A rotary cam-member 20 is then turned to pass over and press back the hooked portion of the base piece. To permit of the valve standard and bowl being rigidly held in a desired position the upper and lower ends of the valve standard are formed with multilateral faces adapted to be gripped by corresponding faces 7 at one end of clamp members 3, the other end of such members being adapted to grip a stall post 1.
