Abstract

308,865. Hayes, F. Nov. 9, 1928. Cigarettes are provided with an igniting tip 2 resting flat against the surface of the tobacco at one end of the cigarette and perforated to provide ample surface exposed to the air. As shown, the tip 2 is held in place by a paper cap 3 having a serrated adhesive flange 4 and an open centre. The tip 2 and cap 3 may be applied by using the cigarette to push them through a tube 5, Fig. 4, slightly larger in diameter than the cigarette.
