Abstract
307,894. Marconi's Wireless Telegraph Co., Ltd., (Assignees of Beverage, H. H., and Peterson, H. 0.). March 15, 1928, [Convention date]. Fading, preventing. - 'Wireless signals are received on each of a plurality of geographically separated aerials 31, 33 and the signal effects produce in each receiving system 43, 45 a beat note of different frequency, and the separate beat notes are combined in a receiving circuit substantially independently of their relative phase relationship to eliminate the effects of fading. Intermediate beat frequencies are obtained by means of local generators 47, 49 and are amplified by a common selective amplifier 51. The output of the amplifier is connected with a fullwave rectifier 59, 61 and filtering means, such as a condenser 63, bye-pass the intermediate frequencies across a receiving instrument 65 in the output of the rectifier. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) comprises also a modification in which the beat frequencies are of the order of 1000 cycles, are amplified separately, and impressed on separate primary windings of a transformer having telephones connected to its secondary winding (Fig. 1, cancelled, not shown). This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
