Abstract

307,707. Grien, H. March 10, 1928, [Convention date]. Air, washing.-Air washing apparatus comprises a stationary vessel or in the form shown a' portable glass vessel 1 having an inlet 29 to which suction hose is attached and terminating in a disc 33 with an annular channel or bubbling hood 36. A cylinder 37 is secured by supports 38 to the channel, its upper edge projecting slightly into the channel and above the level of liquid in the vessel which has an overflow 39 with an adjustable outlet 41 and a vessel 43 receiving liquid displaced by dust sucked in with the air. An exhauster 12 and motor 11 with a cover 10 are carried by a ring 3 which is pressed against a rubber ring 23 by means of a spring 18 located between the motor and a rod 21 connected to the arms of a handle 24. A projecting cap 13 with air passages 15 covered by fabric 17 is arranged below the exhauster to prevent liquid passing through the aperture 16. In a modification, the exhauster or pump may be separate from the liquid vessel which is made of metal and has inspection windows.
