Abstract
307,022. International General Electric Co., Inc., (Assignees of Allgemeine Elektricitõts-Ges.). March 1, 1928, [Convention date]. Multi-stage compressors ;cooling.-A cooler a is arranged outside the compressor casing and between the two stages b, c of the compressor. The compressed medium from the stage b passes to the cooler through two conduits d, e with spiral walls which together surround the rotor. The conduits d, e combine to form one conduit f which extends over the entire length of the cooler, so that the medium impinges on the cooling pipes throughout their length. 'The conduits which convey the medium from the cooler to the stage c are constructed in a similar manner, to prevent undue stresses in the cooling pipes if a back flow of the medium should occur. In a modification, similarly constructed conduits are used with two coolers placed in parallel between the compressor stages.
