Abstract

306,902. Siemens & Halske Akt.- Ges. Feb. 27, 1928, [Convention date]. Condensers, - Substances, such as organic insulators, which are unstable at slightly raised temperatures e.g. above 400‹ C. are coated with metal by deposition from the vapour of a volatile compound such as iron or nickel carbonyl, the substance being heated to the decomposition temperature of the compound. The body to be coated, heated at the required parts, and if desired, cooled at others, may be moved relatively to a nozzle delivering the compound, or the bodies may be stacked in or moved through a tank containing an atmosphere of, or traversed by a current of the compound. Foils of insulating material coated may be used for condensers. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 21025/90, [Class 82, Metals and alloys].
