Abstract

306,802. Tourand et H., Guerrier, A. Feb. 25, 1928, [Convention date]. Permutation looks for motor vehicle brake lever.-When the brake lever is pulled pawls 6 move over teeth 7 and hold the lever in the " on " position. A cable 19 is connected to a drum 21 contained in a permutation lock. The drum is integral with a disc 23 having a hole 25. Contiguous to the disc is a drum 28 having annular series of holes 26, 29 ; each of the latter contains a finger 30. The drum 28 contains a knob 34 fitted with studs 32, 33. If the knob is turned until the studs register with holes in the drum 28 it may be pushed in to force a finger into a notch in the edge of the disc 23. The cable may then be pulled by turning the drum 28. This disengages the dog 12 and the lever is released. Normally a bolt 38 is pressed by a spring 39 into the notch. This is withdrawn at the commencement of the releasing action by means of a knob 40.
