Coated fabrics.-A composition which may be pressed upon a layer of fabric, preferably jute, for making floor, wall and like coverings is formed from benzyl-cellulose which is rendered plastic by gelatinizing agents such as trieresylphosphate. Wood-meal, fillers and colouring substances are added and the oxidation products of drying oils such as linoxyn may be added to the mixture. The whole of the ingredients are mixed in an unmoistened and unmelted state and the mass so obtained is pressed into a flat layer by heated rollers or presses. Specification 173,021 is referned to.
