Cases.-A number of batteries are held together in a frame comprising a base a and ends b pivoted to the base and having recesses c for engagement by pins B on the end cells of the series. The individual cells are cemented to a strip w having a pin x projecting into an aperture y in the base a, and the latter has an aperture E to receive a pin D projecting from an outer case j. A cover f slides in grooves e in the frame and has apertures through which the terminal sockets g project. To prevent incorrect assembly the sockets g have projections F on one side which engage in corresponding slots in the apertures in the cover. Fig. 5 shows means for holding and connecting a number of frames together without the use of the case j. The frames are connected together by rods m which pass through the end members b, certain of the rods carrying bars o to which handles p are attached. The bases of the frames may be cut away to interlock with those below, as shown at t.
