305,184. Winterhoff, A. Feb. 1, 1928, [Convention date]. Check loose-ball valves.- The guide casing of a ball check valve for pumps dealing with muddy waters, more particularly diaphragm pumps, comprises a seating 5 with integral ribs 8 which are strengthened near the top by a ring 9 and are inturned with a sharp curve at the top, as shown. The seating and ribs are preferably made of rubber and the top claws act to return the valve quickly to its seating. The ribs may alternatively be united at the top to form a complete cage.
