Abstract
305,094. Echowerk Ges. Jan. 30, 1928, [Convention date]. Addition to 303,447. [A Specification was laid open to inspection under Sect. 91 of the Acts, Jan. 31, 1929]. Testing coins.-The coin testing mechanism of the parent Specification is provided with means for separating out coins which are too heavy and coins which have a hole in the centre. Between the coin slot 4, Fig. 1, and the lever 18 for retaining light coins, the channel consists of an angled plate 6 pivoted at, 8, Fig. 2, and resting on a lever 10 having a counterpoise. Coins that are too heavy tilt the lever 10 so that the plate 6 drops to throw them out to a return hopper 19 through a slot in the hinged flap 22 that is operated by a lever 21 and bevelled push button 20 to discharge light coins laterally from the lever 18. A spring-controlled bell-crank lever 3, 5 is rocked by each coin as it is inserted to cause the arm 5 to rock the plate 6 by acting on an arm 7 thereon, so that if two light coins 16, 17 are inserted in succession, the second 17 rest. ing on the plate 6 is returned by the insertion of a third coin. In the delivery channel in which thin coins are rejected, the flap 12 is provided with two stops 14, 15 for arresting coins with holes in the centre, the stop 15 being a pin adjustable relatively to the flap, and adapted to engage the edge of the coin. In a, modification Fig. 4, the stop comprises a nose piece 27 on a weighted lever 28 pivoted at 29.
