Abstract

305,066. Weber, L. Oct. 27, 1927. Air and gases, controlling direction of flow of; rotary containers.-Hops are dried prior to the extraction of oils and resins either with air or alcoholized air at a temperature of from 70‹ to 90‹ F. and preferably at a pressure below atmosphere. The drying is effected in a still having jacketed ends for heating purposes, spaced perforate grids between which the hops are drawn by suction through an inlet b, and rotary stirrers e, 47. The air passes through a heater 27 and pipes n, n<1> into the still and is drawn through the pipe o, condenser p and separator q to the suction port s<1> of the pump. In a modification, the hops are dried in a perforate rotary container 10, Fig. 2, mounted within the still. Specification 305,076 is referred to.
