Abstract
305,023. Schloemann Akt.-Ges. Jan. 28, 1928, [Convention date]. Rolling; shearing.-A continuously driven shearing machine 2, Fig. 1, having cutters 3, Fig. 2, is utilized to cut bars &c. delivered from a rolling mill 1, Fig. 1, into uniform lengths, the work being located between the cutters by a timing device controlled by the rolling-mill. The work on passing through a guide 19 and reaching a switch 20 couples the conductors 24, 25 so that at a suitable angular position of the drum switch 26 on the shearing machine 2, a relay 28 is actuated to close a switch 29 thereby causing a relay 16 to couple a shaft 5 to a shaft driven directly by the rolling-mill 1. A switch 14 on the shaft 5 couples the conductors 23, 31 and, at a suitable angular position of the cutters a switch 32 completes the circuit through a relay 11 whereby a valve 12 is rotated to allow a pneumatic unit 4 to actuate a clutch 10 which couples a cam 9 to the shearing machine. The cam 9 actuates pivoted tubes 8 so that the work being guided through the tubes is aligned with the shearing-cutters and severed. The cut lengths are then moved forwards to a cooling-bed 6. When the,trailing end of the bar has passed the switch 20 the shaft 5 is stopped, after one revolution, by a switch 15 which energizes a relay 36 to break the contact 29.
