Abstract

304,570. Brendlin, A. July 30, 1928. Cleaning tubes.-Nests of tubes in condensers, preheaters, surface condensers, coolers &c. are cleaned by means of a number of hollow push rods c carrying cleaning tools c' at their ends and secured at their other ends to a piston b moved by a fluid such as compressed air or water which also passes through the hollow rods c for cleaning. A pressure rail s is provided for taking up end thrust and a suitable system of valves for operating the piston. Guide rings d, f and guide rods e are provided to prevent buckling of the members c. The apparatus may be mounted on a trolly or may be moved by a crane engaging eyelets n. The casing a is rotatable by means of a handle p in the mounting ring t of the eyelets n.
