Comparison photometers .-The co-efficient of diffusion of a kinematograph film support containing white material in suspension is determined by passing a parallel beam of light therethrough, directed normally to the plane of the film, and measuring the intensity of the transmitted light in two directions respectively, (a) inclined at an angle of 78¥‹. and (b) perpendicular to the plane of the film. The ratio a/b of these intensities is the required co-efficient.
