Manure, seed, &c. distributers.-A machine for dressing ridges or distributing artificial manure, seeds, &c. comprises an interchangeable distributing disc mounted outside, a hopper on a substantially horizontal shaft so as to be in substantial contact with a vertical wall of the hopper and over an outlet opening, the disc being provided with ribs or pockets rigidly fixed on or in the face in contact with the hopper wall. The hopper c is removably secured on a frame b provided with a wheel a from which the shaft d carrying the removable disc e is driven by bevel or other gearing. The disc may be provided with radial ribs m or with a ring of recesses or cells in its face to receive the material passing through an adjustable outlet f in the hopper. The material falls into a spout g thich may have a telescepic or other adjustable outlet. Attached to the spout or in front of it is a curved or other bar h for lifting the leaves or tops of the plants. Set-screws i or other projections may be provided on the shaft d to agitate the material in the hopper; or revolving rods in the hopper may be driven from the wheel a. Coulters &c. for turning over the earth may be provided. The hopper may have several outlets, discs, etc.; or several hoppers may be provided.
