Drilling-machines.-Machines for drilling coal and rock. in particular for forming holes for blasting, have the drill head mounted on angularly adjustable arms with power adjusting means. A truck running on the mine track is propelled by chain gearing from an electro motor supplied by a cable and automatic cable reel 8 of known type. A brake serves to lock the truck in position for drilling. Concentric sleeves carry arms 23, 25 with rollers bearing on a circular track 28, and provided with spring bolts engaging notches 31 for locking the arms in adjusted position. Turn tables, on the ends of the arms, and fitted with similar locking means, carry pivots 45 for motors 46 with tubular extensions 49 on which the drill-heads 50<a> are angularly adjustable at 50, being clamped at 50b. The motors and attached drill heads are power adjusted about the pivots by links 87 pivoted at 88 to brackets on the turn tables and to cross-heads 70 tapped to engage screws 69. The motor drives through spur gearing 57 shaft 53 connected to the drill spirdles 62 by bevel gearing 58. Spur gearing 71 and chain gearing 72 provides a reversing drive for the screws 69 through friction clutches 80 controlled by eccentric pins 83 on hand wheels 85. The drill spindles are screwed throughout and are fed by the usual split nuts.
