Abstract

299,674. Blincoe, F. R. March 27, 1928. Scissors, shears, and the like, are provided with members 16, 17 which grip a .severed flower. stem &c. at a distance from the cutting jaws 11, 12 with a clear space between. The severed stem can thus be held firmly supported between the grippers and against the jaws. At least one gripper is resilient, the grippers being preferably resilient wires 16, 17 curved so as to close on stem &c. to be cut in advance of the cutting jaws 11, 12, to the rear edges 20, 21 of which jaws the wire grippers are secured.
