Abstract
299,590. Williams, P. Oct. 3, 1927. Frames, joints, and connections.-Tables, seats, and other articles of furniture with legs are constructed with plywood frames and detachable legs. The table frame shown consists of plywood parts a<1> - - a<4>, Fig. 2, which are trenched on their inner sides to receive shouldered pieces b<1>, b<2>, and are slotted near their ends to receive the ends of the pieces c<1>, c<2>. Edge pieces d<1> -- d<4> are then fitted, and a plywood skin e is applied. The upper ends of the legs are tapered and are loosely fitted in holes in the parts a<1>-a<4>, or are forked, and are fitted over the corners of the skin part e. The top g, Fig. 1, may be solid, or of plywood, and covers a frame f; its edge has a cane or other strip h. The legs may be packed in the spaces between the parts b, c.
