Abstract

299,378. Pessell, R. C., and Gooding, C. H. April 19, 1927. Cooling milk.-A milk &c. cooler comprises a series of easily assembled and slighty spaced frusto-conical vessels 5, 6, 11 either containing a cooling-liquid or through the jackets of which a cooling-liquid is circulated, the milk being poured through the opening 1 and passing through the spaces between the vessels to an outlet 3. Additional cooling may be obtained by forming openings 2,2!, Fig. 3, in, the vessel 6 in place of the outlet 3 and enclosing the cooler in spaced cylinders 20, 23. The surfaces of the vessels may be generated by curves of revolution or they may be polygonal in form. Several coolers may be conected in series with either common or independent cooling arrangements.
