Abstract

299,110. Snell, A. B., and LeBreton, W. H. July 27, 1927. Folding and collapsable brackets.-A lazytongs structure suitable for suspending curtains &c. is arranged so that it tends, under spring action, to assume its extreme open position from which it can be moved by an operating cord &c. In the construction shown the lazytongs are held extended by helical springs mounted on the lower pivots 2 the ends of each spring being extended the form arms with hooked ends which engage the central pivots 5. The device is collapsed by a cord 6. The pivots 2 may each be in the form of an eyelet to receive a curtain hook or in the form of one member of a press stud fastening. The upper inner end 7 of the lazytongs is pivoted to a pin 8 rotatably mounted in a sheet metal bracket 10, the lower inner end 13 of the lazytongs being provided with a roller engaging the pin 8. According to the Provisional Specification the spring or springs may be arranged to hold the device in its closed position.
