Abstract

298,510. Bard, P. July 7, 1927. Divided on 294,364, [Class 25, Chimneys &c.]. Ventilators; valve apparatus.-Apparatus for ventilating rooms and inducing a draught in chimneys consists of a box 2G which is disposed adjacent the chimney in the upper part of the room and is provided with one apertures 16 leading to the room and a second and lower aperture 20 communicating with the chimney, and means are provided for operating simultaneously the shutters 27, 27<1> for such apertures. The shutters are connected by means of pivoted links 45, 48, 49, the central link 45 being pivoted on a vertical post 47. The shutters are adapted to be closed against the action of a spring 51 by a chain 25 connected at 44 to the lever 45. A conduit 43, adapted to be mounted within the chimney, is mounted on flanges on the cover member 26<1> of the casing 26 and such cover member 26' is adapted to be readily detached.
