298,150. Hoffmann, E. Oct. 4, 1927, [Convention date]. Mechanical toys; boats.-In a wheeled toy a wherein the axle b of the steering wheel c is pivoted at its centre c and is normally positioned out of straight by a spring f, steering is effected by a Bowden wire d connected to the axle and provided at its free end k with known operating means. The toy is driven by a motor g connected to back axle m through gearing. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) states that the Bowden wire could be replaced by other flexible means such as an electric cable or pneumatic tubing, and includes the application of the invention to the controlling of the braking, reversing, horns, lamps, direction indicators and other parts of a toy. This subjectmatter does not appear in the Specification as accepted. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 301,337.
