Abstract

298,149. Ateliers Seignol. Oct. 4, 1927, [Convention date]. Indicators actuated by floats.-A liquid level indicator particularly applicable to fuel tanks of motor vehicles comprises a float 1 carried by a rod 2 pivoted at 3 to a slider 4 moving on a vertical rod 5 carried by a cap 6. One end of the rod 2 is pivoted to a connecting rod 8 which is pivoted to a fixed point on the guide rod. The movements of the slider 4 are proportional to those of the float, and are transmitted to an indicating device by a cord 7 passing through a guide 9. The rod 2 is a strip of metal bent as shown in Fig. 2, so that any agitation of the fuel causes it to yield laterally and the slider is thus pressed on the guide and irregular movements of the cord 7 are prevented.
