Abstract

297,902. Hollows, J. July 8, 1927. Pickers of the overhead or square headed type are constructed from a single blank shaped as shown at Fig. 1. The sides are folded successively at a and a' to give three thicknesses of material, the double fold being bent at right angles to the blank along the line a<2>, whilst the top portion is folded along the line a<3> and then bent at right angles to the blank at a<4>. The picker is then pressed and folded as usual, as shown in Figs. 4 and 6, and has a reduced thickness at the foot. It has strengthened parts for receiving the picking strap, and the picking spindle, and plenty of material is available for forming the solid body and striking portion.
